Normal business hours: Monday-Thursday, 9 am - 5 pm; Friday 9am - 4 pm.
Access to the design hub can be made available from 7 am - 10pm seven days per week if required.
The Design hub is situated in Borron Street, Port Dundas. The studios themselves are on the far side of Rankine House as you enter the business park. You will not see the design hub sign until you move down the short hill and come round the corner to the back of Rankine House.
From the M8 East (coming from Edinburgh Airport, Edinburgh, North/South Lanarkshire, M74 South)
Exit the M8 at Junction 16 (A81) Aberfoyle, George Square, stay in the right hand lane of the slip road.
Turn right at the traffic lights (signed for Port Dundas.) Veer to the left following signs for Milngavie (A879.)
Go through the first roundabout and turn right at the traffic lights at canal lock.
From North Canal Bank Street follow the signs for Port Dundas Trading Estate. Drive straight for approximately 500m then turn left up onto Borron Street.
At the top of the hill take a right through the yellow gates into Port Dundas Business Park.
From M8 West (coming from Glasgow Airport, Prestwick Airport, Paisley, Greenock etc.)
Exit the M8 at junction 15 (Royston, Sighthill, Port Dundas), immediately thereafter take the first left and carry on up to the traffic lights.
Stay in the right hand lane, turn right and veer to the right directly at the next set of lights.
Go past the police station and carry down the road for approximately 400m then turn left on to North Canal Bank Street.
Take the first right onto Borron Street and carry on up the hill, turning right through the yellow gates into Port Dundas Business Park.
There is plenty of free parking outside the design hub.
Taxi services are readily available from Glasgow city centre and a number of ranks are evident. When visiting the design hub ask the driver for Borron Street in Port Dundas and tell him/her that we are across the road from Diageo's main plant.
The landlord of the estate provides a daily bus service. This service runs at the following times and pickup points:
From North Hanover Street (at the side entrance to Queen St. Station) 7.40 am, 8.00 am, 8.40 am and 9.00 am.
To North Hanover Street (from the main business park gates) 4.20 pm, 4.40 pm, 5.10 pm, 5.40 pm and 6.10 pm.
Alternatively, First Direct's number 54, 64 and 75 services leave from Hope Street and stop on Saracen Street. From the bus stop on Saracen Street go left (back in the direction you just came) and cross over the road that connects Possil Road and Keppochhill Road. Carry straight on until you come to Booker's cash and carry which will be on your left hand side. Take the first left after this on to Borron Street. Follow this road round the bend and take a left into the Port Dundas Business Park.
The nearest train stations for the design hub is Glasgow Queen Street (then Central). The nearest tube stop is either St Gorges cross or Cowcaddens (the design hub is equidistant between them)
Surely the best way - is healthy and green! The design hub is approximately 20mins walk or 10min cycle from George Square.
Directions from Buchanan Bus station:
- Take the back door out of the bus station (by the Taxi Rank)
- Walk up the taxi ramp/slip road and take a right at the top onto Cowcaddens Rd.
- At the T-junction at the end of Cowcaddens Rd. turn left up North Hanover St.
- At the lights at the first junction you come to (end of North Hanover St.) take the left road (Dobbies Loan).
- Follow this road till you see the Motorway running overhead.
- Go under the Motorway and take a left up Craighall Rd.
- Walk up the hill past the small roundabout till you get a set of lights.
- Take a right along N. Canal Bank St - you will see the canal to the right of the road.
- Follow this road for approximately 500m till you see a wall with people and animals painted on it (Borron St). Turn left and walk for about 150m till you see the yellow gates on the right leading into Port Dundas Business Park.
- The Design Hub is on the far side of the main building.
